Young’s Greenhouse to Host Annual Spring Celebration and Scavenger Hunt April 25

Free, family-friendly event kicks off the 2026 planting season

 

SOUTH PARIS, Maine (April 8, 2026) — Spring has officially arrived, and Young’s Greenhouse is ready to celebrate in full bloom. One of Maine’s largest greenhouse destinations is inviting the community to its Annual Spring Celebration and Scavenger Hunt, a fun-filled morning designed for all ages.

The free community event will take place Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Young’s Greenhouse, 643 High St., South Paris. Guests can explore all 14 heated greenhouses as they come alive with a giant scavenger hunt, activities, games and entertainment.

Families can expect a whimsical and energetic atmosphere complete with a bounce house, dunk tank, prizes, cotton candy and popcorn. Whether hunting for hidden treasures among the plants or simply soaking in the sights and smells of spring, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The event is held in partnership with Moss Brook Church, which will provide live music throughout the morning.

Coinciding with the kickoff of the spring planting season, the greenhouses will be filled with vibrant flowers, tropical plants and garden favorites –  perfect for those eager to get a head start on their gardens.

The Annual Spring Celebration is just the beginning of an exciting 2026 season at Young’s Greenhouse. Additional highlights include:

Mother’s Day Photo Shoot
Saturday, May 9, 2026 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Celebrate Mom with a complimentary photo opportunity set against a beautiful greenhouse backdrop – perfect for capturing springtime memories.

Memorial Day Weekend Event
May 21–25, 2026
A multi-day event featuring seasonal specials, sales and a chance to stock up on everything needed for the summer planting season. On Memorial Day (Monday, May 25), veterans are invited to enjoy a special discount as a thank-you for their service.

Seniors Save Tuesdays
Select Tuesdays in May (May 5–26, 2026)
Guests age 65 and older are invited to enjoy exclusive savings on select Tuesdays throughout May. This special promotion offers a relaxed shopping experience, personalized gardening advice and discounts on a wide selection of plants and gardening essentials.

Christmas Spectacular
December 5, 2026
Kick off the holiday season at this festive annual event featuring beautifully decorated greenhouses, seasonal displays, holiday shopping and family-friendly activities. Guests can enjoy a magical winter atmosphere filled with Christmas cheer, perfect for creating lasting holiday traditions.

Throughout the year, Young’s Greenhouse will also host a variety of hands-on workshops, including fan favorites such as Fairy Gardens, Succulent Gardens, Herb Gardens and Tea Party Workshops, as well as seasonal offerings like fall workshops featuring autumn-inspired succulent designs and décor, and festive Christmas workshops. These workshops offer creative, interactive experiences for gardeners of all skill levels.

Guests are encouraged to stay tuned for even more events throughout the season, including a visit from the Georgia Peach Truck this summer.

ABOUT YOUNG’S GREENHOUSE

Serving customers since 1975, Young’s Greenhouse is a family-run farm and business open year-round in South Paris, Maine. While now one of the largest greenhouses in Maine, Young’s Greenhouse is still rooted in tradition – with four generations having passionately worked to grow quality plants and flowers, and also educating customers through seasonal workshops.
