Free event first of many planned at Young’s Greenhouse, now open year-round
SOUTH PARIS, MAINE: (April 2, 2024) – While Young’s Greenhouse is now open year-round, spring is definitely the time of year when one of Maine’s largest greenhouses is bustling with activity. To celebrate the 2024 spring and summer planting season, Young’s Greenhouse is once again inviting the community to their Annual Spring Celebration and Scavenger Hunt.
The fun-filled, family-friendly event will take place at Young’s Greenhouse – located at 643 High Street in South Paris, Maine – on April 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m . Coinciding with the kick off of Young’s Greenhouse annual planting season, the spring celebration will feature a giant scavenger hunt, a bounce house, dunk tank, games, cotton candy, popcorn, and more, all in Young’s fourteen heated greenhouses. There will be golden tickets prizes and the first 300 people will receive a free goodie bag. The community day is in partnership with Moss Brook Church, which is also providing the music.
For plant lovers, the greenhouses will be open with a supply of tropical plants, succulents, and spring flowers ready for sale. Foodies will be able to stock up on Young Girls Farm beef and its new line of pantry products, including jams, jellies, gourmet pretzels, salad dressings, dry rubs, local Maine honey and Maine maple syrup, and fudge.
The spring celebration is just the start of an exciting 2024 season planned at Young’s Greenhouse. One of the new events this year is A Day on the Farm. The September 21 workshop, presented by Young Girls Farm – is an agritourism experience at a real working farm. Participants will learn what goes into taking care of a herd of cows, and will even get to meet the adorable calves. Those who want to raise their own beef or who have children interested in 4-H will want to attend the first-ever Young Girls Farm Calf Sale on September 28.
These great events are in addition to the traditional workshops throughout the year – including Fairy Garden, Succulent Garden, Herb Garden, Fall Succulent, and Christmas Workshops, as well as bus tours and private workshop parties. Young’s Greenhouse is excited to bring back the Dragon Lair Workshop on June 1 and a Gnome Swag Workshop on Black Friday. Other Special event weekends include:
